Future Tasmania presents two awards each year.
"I'd like to have been around for longer - places to go, people to meet, doing my bit to save nature so people can live healthily & happily - maybe you can do a little bit of this for me..." Carolyn Parsons 2007
This annual award has two categories - individual and school. Entries are invited from Tasmanian students, Grades 5 to 10.
Have you done something in your community, school or household that will
help create a "better tomorrow", doing your bit to help the environment
or raise awareness about a social justice issue so people can live safely,
healthily & happily?
We are looking for students who, through their own or school initiative, have done something positive towards making Tasmania a great place to live.
This award recognises the long-term contribution of an outstanding Tasmanian in the areas of social, cultural and environmental activism, innovation, advocacy or leadership.
Individuals are particularly likely to be acknowledged with this award if their work has been previously unrecognised, or under-recognised, or if their contribution is in a purely voluntary capacity.
In addition, activities that have been ground-breaking, have required courage and persistence and have created positive outcomes with widespread good, or the good of the community now and in the future, are particularly likely to be acknowledged.
If you would like to nominate any individual for this award for 2009, please contact info@futuretasmania.org
